IDO AHARONI ARONOFF

Ido Aharoni Aronoff, former Israeli diplomat and place positioning expert, serves as Global Distinguished Professor for Business at Touro University and Tel Aviv University. Previously held the position of Global Distinguished Professor for International Relations at New York University. He is Israel’s longest-serving Consul-General in New York (2010–2016), where he led the country’s largest diplomatic mission.  

A 25-year veteran of Israel’s Foreign Service, Aharoni participated in high level diplomatic negotiations and developed Israel’s nation-branding strategy, initiating the Brand Israel Program in 2002. He spearheaded initiatives such as the Albert Einstein House project and the Best Countries Index, and he is a co-founder and Global Ambassador for the Genius 100 Visions community.  

He has advised numerous global enterprises and non-profits, including Mastercard, APCO Worldwide, Libra Group, Value Base, Bank Leumi USA among others. He holds advisory positions with hi-tech enterprises such as Israel-based Fin Sec Lab, powered by Mastercard, and India-based Innovation Mission Punjab. He also serves on boards including Tel Aviv University, the World Jewish Sports Museum, and Maccabi World Union.

An award-winning public speaker and academic, Aharoni lectures globally on public diplomacy, branding, Middle East geopolitics, and U.S.-Israel relations. He also hosts TAU Unbound, Tel Aviv University’s official English-language podcast.  

Born in Tel Aviv, his family has roots in the Land of Israel dating back to the 1870s.
